With joy and a strong sense of communion, our community welcomed the Pastoral Visit of D. Joaquim Dionísio, Auxiliary Bishop of Porto.
It was a moment of closeness, listening and sharing, strengthening the bond between the Church and the community, and leaving a message of hope, commitment and a shared journey of faith.
We are grateful for his presence, his encouraging words and his testimony, which challenge us to continue building a living, supportive and attentive community.
May this visit be a seed of renewal and unity for us all.

When silence meets music, history is reborn.
We share fragments of The Musicians of Bremen, where the deaf-mute film and the live performance converse with each other.

On May 4th, the Onomatopoeia Tent was filled with music and imagination with the presentation of the musical fable “Peter and the Wolf”, performed by the talented Grupetto – Associação Cultural de Alfena.
This classic story, told through the orchestra’s instruments, captivated children and adults, who listened attentively to each sound and character: the bird, the cat, the duck… and of course, the fearsome wolf!
It was a magical moment, where music became a narrative and the audience was taken on a sound journey full of expression and creativity.
Thank you to everyone who attended this beautiful fusion of literature and music!

Valongo at a rapid pace!
On May 1st, the song again drew attention at Largo do Centenário, with an open percussion workshop dynamized by the tireless Grupetto – Alfena Cultural Association!
To the sound of bombs that shake the ground and heart, participants in all ages have experienced the power of rhythm and the magic of playing together.
It was an afternoon of sharing, discovery and a lot of fun – where those who came did not stand and the percussion served as a bridge between generations.
Another unforgettable moment of the onomatopeia 2025 programming, where the music also tells stories and where each beat echoes with creativity!

On March 29th, the Grupetto Auditorium was filled with melody and emotion with the interpretation of Aires Joaquim da Maia Pinheiro, who guided us on a journey through the work of José Duarte Costa. It was an afternoon of sharing and discovering the richness of the Portuguese classical guitar!
We thank everyone who attended and supported classical music. We continue together to value our musical heritage!

The second day of this inspiring event, Exploratory Meetings on Inclusive Music Practice in Portugal, highlighted leading Portuguese projects, including Grupetto Música – Associação Cultural (“Bands at School”). It was an enriching moment of sharing and reflection on the impact of music on inclusion and the development of skills.
We were honored to present our School Band project, demonstrating how music not only develops talents, but also promotes essential skills for students’ personal and social growth.
Our representative at this meeting was Professor Ana Raquel Marques, who brought the voice and results of our work to this important discussion.
We thank DGARTES for the invitation and all participants for their involvement and sharing! Together, we show that music is a powerful tool for transformation!

The work “Peter and the Wolf”, composed by Prokofiev in 1936, is a children’s story told through music. Each character in the story – Peter, the wolf, the grandfather, the bird, the duck, the cat and the hunters – is represented by a specific musical instrument. The pedagogical objective of the work is to introduce children to the different sounds of instruments and the emotions that can be expressed through music.
The main objective of this project is to provide a unique educational experience that uses music as a pedagogical tool for the cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Through the work “Pedro and the Wolf”, it will be possible to integrate musical knowledge, stories and life lessons in a fun and accessible way.
